Our monthly Employee Spotlight showcases one of our most dedicated members of the Arch Interim Housing team – Michelle Elbert!
Michelle has worked with us at Arch Interim Housing since 2010 and is our Senior Accounting Manager. From the beginning she has always been diligent and very hard-working, organized, passionate about serving our guests, an doing things right the first time.
Born in Valdosta, Georgia, Michelle and her parents moved to St. Louis when her father was discharged from the Air Force. They moved to Florissant, where she lived until she graduated from high school and entered the work force.
Michelle has always had a tremendous work ethic. At the age of 13, she began babysitting, and when she was 15 years old, she worked at Holliday Hill Amusement Park. She has spent 20 years as the Accounting Manager for The Southland Corporation, which owns over 500 7-11 convenience stores. She then spent 13 years as the Administrative Manager at a large national company before joining us in 2010.
Michelle always goes above and beyond the call of duty and what is expected of her to better serve all of our clients and to ensure that their experience at Arch Interim Housing is amazing and unforgettable. She has received tremendous praise from many clients, many of whom say that she is the type of person who wants to help other people and will try to accommodate whatever it is they might need. One of our clients praised Michelle in his testimonial, saying, “Michelle, thank you for the information concerning our apartment at the Waterways of Lake St. Louis. Your company has been a Godsend… Thank you again for all your work!” This only further affirms what we have known all along, that Michelle is phenomenal at what she does and will do whatever it takes to ensure guest satisfaction!
Michelle has been married for 25 years to her wonderfully supportive husband Dave. They have one daughter, Kate, who has just graduated with Honors from Lindenwood University with a B. A. in Fine Arts; she is now pursuing a career in the fashion industry and will be getting married later this year.
When Michelle is not happily assisting our guests, she can be found gardening, reading, attending family get-togethers and BBQs, baking, or playing Bunco. Michelle is a very competitive individual and has also played on several Roller Derby teams as a “Crusher.” Also very interested in health and fitness, Michelle loves working out 4 days a week, and she and her husband enjoy their dogs, Toots and Belle.
