Soulard Mardi Gras – Soulard is home to the second largest mardi gras celebration in the U.S. (compared to New Orleans)! The Mardi Gras festivities go on for weeks in Soulard, but The Grand Parade and Bud Light Party Tent events will be happening on February 9th, 2016. Over 100 krewes will be showcasing floats they’ve been working on for months while marching bands play through the streets! Get your mardi gras beads while watching The Grand Parade which begins at 11am at Busch Stadium (700 Clark Ave.) and ends at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery (1200 Lynch St.)! Then make your way over to the Bud Light Party Tent (tickets are $99 and must be purchased in advance here.) where you can enjoy a creole buffet, music, and, of course, drinks! Located at Soulard Market Park, there will also be tons of neighborhood restaurants selling food and drinks in outdoor booths.
Orchid Show at the Botanical Garden – If you’re spending an extended stay in St Louis and you haven’t made it the Botanical Garden, now is the time! Bring in the new spring season by enjoying the Orchid Show at the Missouri Botanical Garden. You have the opportunity to see a rotating display of orchids from the garden’s permanent living collection! The Botanical Garden’s orchid collection includes more than 7,000 orchid plants and the Orchid Show them changes every year! Ticket prices are $5 (ages 3 and up) plus general admission $8 (ages 13 & over, children 12 and under are free).
Centennial Beer Festival – Staying in one of Arch Interim Housing’s furnished apartments? Take a break from work, school or whatever else is tying you down and meet fellow beer drinkers at the Centennial Beer Festival! Over 25 local breweries join forces at the Schnaider Brewery Malt House for an exceptional tasting event. Located in the Lafayette Square neighborhood of St Louis, in a restored malt house that was built in 1876! There are multiple historical rooms to explore while you taste over 25 breweries and more than 200 beers with unlimited samples! Tickets to the beer tasting vary from $31.75 – $34.75 depending on if you attend Friday 2/26, Saturday 2/27, or Sunday 2/28 and can be purchased here. Fire and Ice Party – After a long work/school week get ready to party! Start your weekend off right by attending the Fire and Ice Party at Three Sixty Rooftop Bar, located in the Hilton at The Ballpark at 1 South Broadway, St Louis, MO. Craft cocktails, adult snow cones, hot chocolates, frozen treats, and more are being served up at Three Sixty Rooftop Bar on Friday, February 26th! Enjoy the views 400 feet about Downtown St Louis while hanging out in front of a fire pit and joining the s’mores station fun or at the ice bar and luge!
Celebration Day: A Tribute to Led Zeppelin – St Louis musicians gear up to cover the most popular Led Zeppelin songs as a tribute to the band!
